Whenever we are working on a file in Word and for some reason the file is corrupted, we remember the importance of backing it up. Word has automatic backup of the file, but we might forget to take advantage of it or think we don't need it.

If we have already set up Auto Backup in Word settings then in such cases we can get the backup file. In this type of backup file, the previous data will be saved after we last saved the file.

To take advantage of this feature, go to 'Word Options' by clicking the Microsoft Office button, or going to File, depending on your version of Word. Now, in the 'Advanced' tab, in the Save section, check the 'Always copy backup' box and click OK. The backup copy is stored in the folder in which you will save the file and the file name is the backup document name. Is WBK.

Providing an automatic backup copy of every file in Word will be a blessing in case of unexpected problems.
